This manga was so far surprisingly good. I say surprisingly, because it's original manga, Seven Deadly Sins was dreadful at the end. The power levels were all over the place, there were no weight behind the characters anymore, the plotwists felt random, etc.
Well, so far this manga had not had this problems. The characters were okay, some of them a bit cliché but some of them truly interesting, the action was fine, but more importantly, the story was written interestingly, with Arthur as the main villain, the old characters as supporting characters, the power levels are still in check more or less, so the side characters can have actual roles, and not just be background art.
BUT. The latest chapter had a character development involving one of the best side character in the story, Jericho, which was truly horrendous. The mangaka made this grown woman fall in love with a 10-12 year old boy. Don't get me wrong the manga (and the original too) had some sketchy (or more then sketchy sometimes...) moments too involving loli-s, but this has truly crossed a line for me. And the love aspect is not described as particularly bad in my opinion. Sure, the grown woman said that it's morally disgusting but the confession is written like a usual cozy-dozy love confession. Not to mention how shallow and silly and cheap character development it is for the character itself, who has choosen an evil path because she wants to be with this boy in a dream, if she can't be with him in the real world.
Absolutely despicable in my opinion.
So: the manga itself is good, not great, but it is genuinely interesting so far. I would give it a 7/10. But because of the questionable aspects and the latest absolutely horrendous infobomb i must give a 4 at best, and sadly I can't recommend it honestly anymore.
Which is dissappointing, because the manga itself (so far at least) was not bad, in fact, I would say it was good.
Sad.
