"To create a world where children won't have to cry, that's why I became a spy."
Funny and touching, Spy × Family brings a breath of fresh air in terms of comedy and emotions. Mainly carried by endearing and surprising characters, a convincing animation and an uncomplicated plot, the anime wants to be good audience and largely meets the expectations. The rhythm is fast, the story is original without doing too much and there is no time to get bored while following this explosive and confusing trio. Tension, laughter and sadness are all present.
Episodes can be seen as repetitive despite the fact that they each have their own personality. Some details and plot devices are also questionable, and much of the plot focuses on a specific location, namely the Eden School, which can be seen as redundant.
Spy × Family remains nevertheless a great success. It doesn't revolutionize anything but the few touches of novelty give a very appreciable result. Following this family in their adventures on a background of cold war, espionage and world peace is both fun and entertaining. A moment of relaxation guaranteed.
