Anyways I want to write this in hope of helping out people looking for anime to watch.
This is not it.
I love love sport anime!! They're always so much fun to watch, but it was not for AO ASHI.
This anime was on the top of my list and after watching 7 episodes I could not bear myself to keep watching in the hopes it gets better.
Do yourself a favor and go watch diamond no ace which did what this anime tried to do but better. The problem with this anime is overall the writing, it is so boring and the plot is so not interesting. We have seen this types of story before, which i'm fine with only when the writer does something different or original to make the plot unique or different. This is not the case here where AO ASHI fails at every aspect of an intriguing story telling. It also tries to be funny but it just end up being cringe and weird. It explains things about football that do not make sense and the games are so boring. In one of the episodes the MC walks in the field and that confuses his opponents and everybody acts like it was some kind of an amazing move??? like what???
There are also so many flashbacks that are not called for at all. This anime asks you to care but it did not give you anything to care about! I do not care about the MC and his sad story because this is all what the MC is, a sad story about being poor. Do not get me wrong it was interesting at first but all the MC talks about is him being poor and screaming all the time about it ugh.
The MC is boring, predictable and annoying.
The Side characters are also boring and predictable.
The only thing that made this anime semi-enjoyable was the music and animation done by IG which is one of my all time favourite studios.
Overall, I give it a 4/10
