Perhaps my most favourite anime series of all time, holds a special place in my heart. Masterfully subverts the Mahou Shoujo genre and concludes in a quite satisfying, profound way. Strong themes of sacrifice, selfishness, and the consequences of having a wish granted. Each character has a great amount of depth and growth, and the story is well-paced. The animation can be wonky at times due to the TV broadcast deadlines, but instances are few and far between. The art style itself is pleasing and well-executed, with a unique mixed-media look for the witch labyrinths. The soundtrack is great, especially the opening and ending. Each character has their own distinct theme music that does a great job at capturing their essence. I really can't find many flaws to write about, Madoka Magica will always be a classic series that left a strong impact, changing the Mahou Shoujo genre forever.
