Paripi Koumei was quite a unique experience, and as a result it's been a very fresh and enjoyable show.
I'll start by talking about the OP, cause realistically it is what made the anime blow up as it did in the first weeks of the season. Chiki Chiki Bam Bam is probably the best opening of all times, and that's not just cause it's a catchy song, but mostly cause it was paired with visuals so fitting, enjoyable, and somewhat memey that the video went viral and it became the main source of attraction for people wanting to check the show out.
The show itself is a pretty original reincarnation story, where we get to see Zhuge Liang from Three Kingdoms come to the modern world and try to make a girl with a passion for singing into a worldwide star.
As someone who has zero knowledge about the Three Kingdoms period, be assured that you don't need to know anything about it to enjoy this anime.
The story is quite linear, without many knots, but for a show that rides mostly on emotions, that is completely fine.
The art and animation are amazing, honestly even more than what you would expect from an already great studio like PA Works. Paired with the sound, they are the main reason the anime is as good at conveying emotions as it is.
The songs are really good, and while they may seem repetitive cause they are sung multiple times, each time has enough of a difference in background, tone and visuals we're shown with it to feel unique.
Characters are quite interesting, each having their own struggles in and out of the music business, while Koumei is, as you'd expect, a big mastermind whose plans are very entertaining to watch; it's also quite funny to see him fitting into the modern world.
Overall, while this show is no masterpiece, with not much of a deeper meaning to look for, it is an extremely enjoyable ride I'd recommend for anyone.
