What makes Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo shine among other romcoms is the focus over the dynamics of the characters and their flaws, and how this affects their relationships with one another. Should a person with unsettled flaws be deserving of a full-fledged relationship? Should a person who is unable to reach their own individual goals aim to be in a relationship? Or should 2 people that love each other be a team that compliments each other's flaws?

Story [7/10] : As a romcom, the story is obviously nothing too spectacular and follows a generic slice of life storyline. The story follows a boy, the mediocre Sorata Kanda who claims that life is boring with nothing special to offer him, this is until he meets the rather quiet and dependent Mashiro Shiina who we later learn to be a rather peculiar person. What makes this story so interesting is how we later learn that both of them are in completely different worlds. What happens when an extraordinary genius is forced to be dependent with the mediocre, nothing-special-at-all-kid? How the anime deals with the character interactions are what makes the story great.

Character [8/10] : The character dynamics with one another are done well. The characters may seem cliché at times, but the story does a great job with their development and progression throughout the story.

Enjoyment [9/10] : I really enjoyed the show, and I'm sure others would feel the same way as well. The comedy is done unexpectedly yet perfect for the moment. The romcom tropes will still make you laugh with how the comedy is executed.

Overall [8/10]
