From the first chapter, it is clear that what the artist was going for was a "Kemono-Friends" style informative manga about animals. Unfortunatley, being able to draw well is not the only requirement needed to create a wildlife series. Chapter by chapter, the artist shows that he has done minimal research about the topics he writes about. In chapter 1, Koutarou says that this aquarium is 200 meters under the sea. Giant squids will not ascend to a depth of 200 meters just because of some bait. Other deep sea creatures that can be seen outside of aquarium do not live at that depth.
I am not sure whether the artist actually likes marine life or just picked it up as to make a manga, but either way, this does not excuse the poor research that went into the manga's creation. An absolute shame to marine life, and an absolute disgrace against sperm whales.
"say, Koutarou, do you know about a part of the ocean so deep that the light from the surface does not reach it? That place is called 'The Sea Farther than Space'"
