There aren't a lot of manga out there as brainy and beautiful as Dr. Stone, which just ended today! Like most of the higher-concept manga that involve outsmarting an opponent (Like Death Note, Promised Neverland), the start has a much slower pace than battle-oriented stories, and this works in Dr. Stone's favor. There's a lot to cover, and the slow build-up from absolutely nothing to rebuilding the world spends much more time on the easier to visualize starting society portion.

The characters are pretty broad, but the main ones get a ton of little moments to shine. It's not just the Senku show, even if he is the main force in the plot! The art is undeniably good, but the differences between male and female characters was a little jarring at first, to me at least. But man, when it's time for a beautiful two-page spread, nothing beats this manga.

Highly recommend this to just about anyone, especially if you like survival games! Glad I caught this during its run.
