Man, I really wanted it to be good but it's just a weaker Legend of the Galactic Heroes with more modern pacing; the 26 episodes don't even finish the manga story and they didn't get a second season. The animation and sountrack aren't anything special, the 3D is just dated enough to look out of place; there's a few genuinely compelling characters who's arcs save this, and the message of anti-imperialism really resonated with me, we don't have enough anime that try to be materialist in their portrayal of politics. I'd say to miss it unless you're really really into space opera and don't mind having to read the novel to know the ending.
