What a great manga! I really enjoyed it!
The art is not bad, I kinda like it, very different from the standard for mangas. To me, the highlight of this manga was definitely the characters and the story.
I haven't watched much anime nor read manga with sports-themed, but every time I come across this type of material, the female characters are always pushed aside to be the cute supporting character who doesn't really add anything to the story itself. Ofc, there are exceptions, like the girl from Kuroko no Basket for example, but I haven't seen many great examples of female characters playing a great part in a sports anime, not even as protagonists.
Saotome Senshu, Hitakakusu was the first sports work that I read that has a female lead. Even tho, it's a romance, the sport - which is boxing - plays a big part in this manga. And I just love it! It's great to see a couple building their love through a passion in common. Both main characters are so lovable and cute, their relationship is pure, mutual and very healthy. I dare to say, I think they're one of the best couples I've ever seen in a manga/an anime. I also liked that the main lead isn't completely a douche bag, he's that type of character you want to root for.
The only downside of this manga is that the last chapters were a little bit rushed, I wish I could see more of them. but it was a great read ofc.
