I must admit I was really excited to watch this show as I have seen the BBC Sherlock series and loved it! And the fact that this is so high rated, I guess i put my expectations too high... I also want to clear that I am not judging anybody here, and we all have different standards and taste.
The story is good but not amazing.. I enjoyed watching it, but not as much as i expected.. it was a bit of let down to be honest..
First of all, I felt no connection to the characters in any way.. not even the MC. The bond between Moriarty and Sherlock is born out of nowhere.. its not shown how they developed a type of "friendship" during their "catch me if u can" game..
Same goes with Sherlock and Mr. Watson.. they meet and suddenly starts acting like best friends..?!?
The only scene I felt emotionally connected to was during the last episode in season 2.. but that was it! Except that, rest of the series feels bland and kind of boring.. I finished it because i hate leaving things halfway through..
The same goes with Irene.. in the real series she is the love interest of Sherlock, but in anime its not shown any signs of that.. Still when she disappear, Sherlock seems sad about it.. And why did Moriarty had to kill Whiteley? Why didn't he save him like he saved Irene? There are so many things that just doesnt make sense. The last thing I want to mention is why Moriarty had to die? And when he survived, why didnt he contact his family? poor little Louis missed him so much
