If you're worried about reading spoilers for this show then skip to 3 minutes 24 seconds in the first episode. Because they quite literally spoil the result of the entire show right from the get go for absolutely no reason whatsoever. As a result there's pretty much no gravity to anything because you already know exactly what's going to happen.
That aside, I'm not one of those ravenous foaming at the mouth isekai haters. There ARE good isekai. Sword Art Online, Overlord, Reincarnated as a Slime, My Next Life as a Villainess, etc. This is not one of them, unfortunately.
That being said this show isn't bad. And believe me there are some bad BAD isekai out there. My absolutely honest rating for this show is a 5. It's genuinely watchable. You should be able to binge all 12 episodes without getting so bored or frustrated by 3 to 5 episodes in that you end up dropping the thing.
As a 5 that means it is absolutely average. If you have nothing else to watch it'll get the job done for a few hours of entertainment. But it's nothing remarkable. You're not going to fantasize about it, think about it, or likely even become a fan of it.
It's not bad. I have to say I genuinely disagree with all of these 1's and 2's getting thrown around. Though it's not good either.
After the first 3½ minutes which quite literally spoil the ending that brings us to the beginning of the story. It's not quite normal as far as isekai go. Typically someone dies and gets reincarnated or reborn into an isekai. This man, after preparing the rest of his meal, literally falls asleep waiting for his rice to get done and wakes up in an isekai. Not even reborn either. Literally like 6 years old sitting at a table with food in front of him. Now to be fair some isekai do start when the character is young, or an adult, rather than an infant - My Next Life as a Villainess for instance. But in that one the MC at least died to start things out then got her memories of her past life back after hitting her head. This one there was no death and no injury, no goddess, no actual event that explains why it happened whatsoever. And that is how we're starting out.
As that happens pretty much right away I wouldn't call it a spoiler by the way. The first 3½ minutes of the 1st episode is an absolute spoiler however and I'd advise you skip past it.
Now I'm not really sure why that's what they went with. Maybe they wanted to avoid some tropes like getting hit by a car or stabbed by a crazy person and be unique. But it just ends up making no sense. Either way I suppose at the end of the day it doesn't really matter all that much. How an isekai begins typically doesn't end up mattering all that much since the focus is almost exclusively on the isekai world itself. Though there are of course exceptions like Jobless Reincarnation in which it's particularly relevant.
Once we move on past that the story is pretty average. We end up with a pretty powerful main character who inexplicably ends up with their own personal harem and all kinds of success. There's small adventures here and there. But it's all pretty generic.
Truth be told I doubt the first 3½ minutes or even a complete synopsis of the entire season would really truly spoil the show all that much because hardly anything happens. It's all pretty generic and expected. There's nothing all that exciting. No riveting plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. No super wild challenges to overcome. It's just an absolutely generic and average story with no bells or whistles. No cherry on top. Nothing special.
It is very watchable though. And that would be why it's a 5. There are some that are genuinely irredeemable trash that you wouldn't even be able to force yourself to get through and if you did you'd hate yourself for it. You won't find that here, frankly. But don't go in expecting anything special or memorable either. You'll be entertained enough for about 4 hours.
I would however suggest you put it towards the bottom of your list. If you're looking for a good isekai there are much better out there.
