Well I just finished madoka magica, overall it was alright. The highlight for me was definitely episodes 10 - 12 where we get to finally see Homura's back story and the wish she made that was pretty cool. When it comes to things I didn't like it, 1st of the animation for the whitches. I dont like seeing these 2 completely different art styles, its just off putting and none of the whitches seem especially memorable to me. They just have a bunch of weird abstract objects and shapes that make up their bodies. 2nd I dont really like madoka as the protagonist. For 90% of the series she is literally just a spectator of her own story, majority of the time she does nothing. Would have been nice if she got her big power up earlier in the show than at the very end. Also why can only madoka wish for world peace? Lot of edgelord scenes, mami and sayake dying I dont care at all. We barely knew them as the viewer.

When the whitches weren't on screen, the animation is pretty vibrant and pleasant to look at accompanied by a great ost. Overall 6/10, I have yet to see the 3rd film so hopefully that will be better.
