Mixed Feelings
This will feel like watching 3 different OVAs. The First Episode is amazing. Top Notch Horror/Gore, a story that is actually written with some level of competency and Interesting Sci-Fi concept that is at least explained in this one. What's funny is that I actually somewhat cared about the characters in this one. Due to some clever writing and expository details being told in a way that felt natural and built the story coherently, I thought it done very well. The Gore was at the right moments and did not interfere with the story beats. Also made sense in the scenes, where they put it. Some of it was even comically hilarious in a twisted way.

Episode 2 & 3 start after a bit of a timeskip. The Gore is just as good, if not even a little better. However the story is kinda laughable. It still makes for a fun watch, but unlike the first episode, its absurdity comes across more as B-movie tier. Despite that however it's pretty great for its first 3 Episodes.

The Final 2 Episodes are a drag. There's another timeskip. The main character doesn't show up for most of it. There's nowhere near the same amount of gore and the plot is complete nonsense by this point. There's a poor attempt at trying to make us give a shit but it barely works. These 2 Episodes are probably why this OVA is rated so low.

The English Dub is BAD, but some of the lines are unintentionally funny. For the first 3 Episodes there are some voices that are actually decent, but carry the same corny lines that you'd expect from a 90s dub. However, Some of voices are downright painful to listen to. In the Last two Episodes, two new characters that are introduced, specifically the blind couple, have some of the most painful voices I've ever heard. I had to switch to Japanese just to get through watching it for those scenes.

If you are into Old Anime or Movies with Body Horror, Gore, Sci-Fi then you'll have a fun time watching this. It's worth checking out at least for the novelty of it. This type of Film won't ever be made again. I don't think directors, these days, can get away with putting children being brutally murdered in full detail in an opening scene for an episode quite like this Anime does.
Episode 1-pilot: 9/10 - Engaging all throughout
Episodes 2-3: 7/10 - Props for the Child Murder
Episodes 4-5: 5/10 - Yawn*... is it over yet?
