The only reason I finished this show was because of the minute enjoyment I got from the fact that this was a romcom anime and because of the white haired girl, Yukihira. It has all the marks of a bad high school harem comedy, with the very bland mc, cliched “moe” art (no other way to describe it, you’ll see what I mean), and rushed storytelling. Many of the jokes are at the main character’s expense, and the show feels a little too mean to him. With the torture he is put through on a daily basis, I’m surprised he’s still alive and willing to deal with this arbitrary misfortune. Now I’m fine if the jokes are at the main character’s expense, like Grand Blue, but they have to be good, and can’t just be the mc saying/doing ridiculous nonsensical stuff, involve people beating him up every episode, or be a straight up awkward, unnecessary skirt shot. Plus the mc’s friends are your typical, stupid jealous friends, whose only role in the story is to beat up the main character when he so even looks at a girl. Whenever I watch this show, I think of what someone on this site once said, “butt monkey”, because that’s what the main character is. Also, I hate excessive straight man comedy as well. Overall, this show just made me angry, because if it was just bad, I wouldn’t give it anywhere near the score I’m giving it, and that’s why I’m rating it a 1 like Trinity Seven. I hope the era of terrible high school romcoms never returns, if it means we get more shows like this. At least give me a bad show that I can somehow enjoy.
