If you have already read a work from Taamo-sensei, then "Atsumori-kun's bride (to be)" will be right up your alley. In this manga we follow Kubota Nishiki, our lively, honest, and very expressive female lead, as she breaks up the shackles of her rigid would-be life. When she meets Atsumori, the handsome and aloof friend of her grandpa, who suggests her to simply elope with him, she finds the key to her freedom.
The story is pretty simple, like most of Taamo's works, and that's actually one of their fortes. By making a straight-to-the-point, short, and sweet story; the author doesn't waste any time on developing the important bits, but it doesn't feel rushed.
The art is Taamo's trademark, simplistic and cute, with very expressive characters and handsome guys. Nothing too impressive, but it serves the story perfectly, so it's pretty solid.
The characters are the best part of any Taamo's work. Nishiki is incredibly entertaining, and it's amazing how she's always able to speak up her mind, something that Atsumori greatly appreciates. On the other hand, Atsumori is a bit more 'cool', but he loses his marbles once Nishiki is involved, making for a quite fun dynamic between the two. I would have loved to see a bit more from Yachoru and Rento, but it was still quite nice whenever they appeared.
Overall this is a pretty good manga if you want a cute and sweet romance story between two characters that learn to expand their worlds thanks to each other.
