I hate the fact that it got canceled. But I understand why. It was not a parody, the author attacked other manga. It was a direct and explicit attack. But for such a thing to exist something must be very wrong. It’s sad but I think the attack was justified, you see he was going to explore the moral problems of isekai in a way that’s not lighthearted and not inviting a rational discussion (well we have one chapter and I’m guessing what it would be about). He took a dogmatic approach, with a clear message and this just doesn’t work in an official magazine. And I think this kind of approach is good(of the author), bear with me for some paragraphs. This is not completely my idea, I would love to think that it is a bit similar to Slavoj Zizek’s view on Greta Thunberg (even if I am a random guy writing a review) . A paraphrase: “would you like to live in a society, where you would have to all the time democratically debate whether women should be raped?” I hope you see it, you just have to be exact about some things.

A lot of us enjoy the satisfaction from this wish-fulfillment story of isekai (well including me). But a large PROBLEM I see is the absence of morality in them. For our pleasure, we are ready to ignore things they promote and encourage. The IMMORAL things. Glorification of people who failed at life if done poorly. If done better stories can aim to show regret or a new chance at life, seeking justice. But in the end, all of these things are just used to create a glorified overpowered character. To fulfill our wishes. (This does not have to be the actual intent of the authors). This block of text maybe does not make sense to you so here are some examples of what I mean.

I mean in Mushoku Tensei the 34-year-old guy would like to do it with Eris who is like 11. It is mentioned how he loved to suck his mothers tit. Just think about it a bit, it’s done to satisfy our lust. The redo of healer is just all wrong, no debate on if rape is ok, rape is never ok. Or a small but important case of the slime isekai. Well, there is a rule that you have to kill 200 000 people to become a demon lord. How does the author make him complete the goal? I mean he kills some 100 000 helplessly underpowered soldiers who wanted to kill him. But it does not end there he has to kill another 100 000 who have surrendered. I don’t really care but that just is not moral. I mean he saves his friends but do you have to kill 100 000 relatively innocent soliders following orders? (If even one of them was innocent the whole thing would be wrong right?) Can’t imagine that the army that consists only of evil knights. Some poor farmer got recruited and now what?

TO CONCLUDE:
This manga wants to show that isekai has a problem. It does so without any compromise. No room for clever words we just have to deal with this. This approach is good because it shows how big and alarming the problem is. You can go to the reviews or redo fo healer and find some guy trying to justify his fantasy. People will don’t want to hate their favorite series. And this genius author wanted to write a manga for those people to REALIZE this (maybe, my interpretation :) ).
