Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (1/23 chp)
As of the first chapter, it's nothing outstanding. Fairly generic plot with some good art thrown in. Wouldn't be too surprised if the series falls a bit flat and gets cut short, but it has room to grow and I'm curious to see where the author takes the series.

First things first the art is really good. While I can't say for certain how this author will handle fights going forward in terms of them being readable, what we have was really nice to look at and relatively easy to follow. The setting has this kind of victorian-esque influence with the biggest comparison obviously being something like the little red riding hood as there are some blatant references to the old tale in this first chapter. The character design is pretty solid as well with the female lead dawning the everso iconic red hood, and the monster design was really good, however, I am hoping the author is able to get creative with the monsters ahead as I fear if they stick with just the werewolf theme, the monsters could become stale and just end up being big scary dog #34.

Now onto the plot. The story just felt pretty generic. A young boy wants to become a werewolf hunter, gets in a little over his head, Internally yells he wants to protect everyone and gets a burst of power with a pinch of "something is special about this one." The female lead is kinda cool, but I wish she kept her original appearance since, to me at least, she gives the duo this weird shota dynamic with the added bonus of possibly the fattest ass in shonen. But eh, that's probably just me.

Overall I look forward to seeing where this series goes, and to see what this author is capable of as it appears that this is his first serialized story.
