Spoiler
This is my second review in My Anime List, and Digimon is one of the main series I have been following. My review of Digimon contains huge spoilers here and there, so this review is actually for some Digimon fans rather than those who are new to Digimon or haven't watched Digimon Frontier, but you are free to spoil yourself.

Digimon Frontier is the first Digimon series to not have Digimon tamers and partners. Instead, the tamers themselves become the Digimon, and it actually brings distinction to the Digimon series, though human becoming Digimon was not firstly introduced in Digimon Frontier, but in Digimon Tamer instead.

STORY: 8
The story is quite enjoyable. While I doubt some people truly watched Digimon for its stories, Digimon Frontier is one of the first anime to lowkey promote the "Blabla lives matter!" movement, which is kinda funny when you think about it. But the depth of its story still makes it enjoyable.

ART: 9
One thing I really love from Digimon, especially over Pokemon (and I love both, mind y'all) is its arts, especially the Digimon's arts. Why do I only rate it 9, though? The characters' arts are not that good. Some are plain and simple, but some are peculiar that they would look normal in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure universe, but weird in anywhere else.

SOUND: 6
There is that one music that is used over and over, and I kinda don't like the evolution music. Other than that, It's good enough.

THIS IS WHERE THE SPOILER STARTS! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

CHARACTER: 7
I have made a poll about how Bokomon and Neemon are annoying, and kinda hope more people would vote in the poll. The characters of Digimon Frontier are good, but could have been better:
1. Bokomon would have his time to evolve, preferably to Ninjamon, MetalMamemon, and ShinobiMamemon (if there is such evolution for Bokomon, lol) in order to protect Takuya and others, or Patamon from enemies. That way, I would stand him, even just a little bit.
2. Katsuharu and co. should have been the new hosts of Earth, Water, Wood, and Steel spirits, though that would be a lot of work for the writers.
3. While there are good enough development for the Legendary Spirit hosts, it would be nice to see Junpei, Izumi, Tomoki, and especially Koichi to also do the double spirit evolution.
Not sure about Neemon, but can he evolve? He is literally just there for a comedic purpose, and sadly, not even a good one.

ENJOYMENT: 9
I would have given it 10 if:
1. We get to see more of Royal Knights, but NOT as antagonists. Seriously. Ulforceveedramon, especially, has been hyped up to the mountain higher than where Yggdrasil resides, yet we see less and less of him in every installment of Digimon. Not even in Video game scenes.
2. Gryphonmon and GranKuwagamon being one shotted by LordKnightmon was pure bullshit. Maybe Pteramon, but Gryphonmon and GranKuwagamon have been hyped as two powerful Mega in Digimon games, especially GranKuwagamon in Digimon World 3. Spoiler here, and LordKnightmon got defeated single-handedly by MirageGaogamon. Is this a way of telling that MirageGaogamon is stronger than MagnaGarurumon?
3. Speaking of Royal Knights, Royal Knights being somehow stronger than one of the Great Digimon Angels is also bullshit. How do I think so? Both KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon could defeat Cherubimon, one of the Great Digimon Angels, only to have their asses handled easily by Dynasmon and LordKnightmon, who are like A Tier in Digimon Royal Knights, yet Dukemon/Gallantmon can barely defeat Beelzebumon, but the same Dukemon could go toe-to-toe with Zhuquemon, a Holy Beast. To give you some contexts, Dukemon could single-handedly defeat ShineGreymon and MirageGaogamon, and Dukemon is also an A Tier among Royal Knights, not equal to Omegamon or Alphamon. What I'm trying to say is the power level in Digimon is even more bullshit compared to, say, DBZ or Mortal Kombat. One may argue that KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon are both kids in Digimon's bodies, but remember: a kid in Digimon's body can almost defeat a Holy Beast, and it happened twice.
But I decided to give it a 9 because there are some fun and badass times in Digimon Frontier, somethings that aren't shown a lot in other Digimon series, like the Legendary Spirit hosts cooking burger, having a Trailmon race, swimming in the beach, making rocket, etc.

OVERALL:
Enjoyable. Could have been better, but still very good.
