Story: 6/10

Yuan Zun has a relatively simple plot for a manhua. The story follows a boy named Yuan Zhou who was supposed to be born with a divine dragon blessing. But this blessing was stolen by the Wu Family, a rival family of the Great Zhou Empire. By stealing the blessing, Yuan Zhou was left unable to cultivate and was seen as a disgrace to the Zhou bloodline. Yuan Zhou's determination to cultivate eventually leads him to find a master that is able to unblock his cultivation channels and allows him to freely cultivate. Of course there is nothing given for free in this world so the master had one request. He had to protect a girl named Yao Yao. After being sent back to the Great Zhou Empire and finally able to cultivate. The story continues with Yuan Zhou trying to become strong enough so that he could take down the Wu Empire to make sure they pay for everything they had done to the Zhou Empire. The story is fairly average as the majority of manhua has a similar story line: boy is weak but has a special hidden ability that makes him very strong so he sets off on a journey to become the strongest. Another negative about this story, and many other manhuas, is that the story moves the main characters from place to place and they seem to forget the places they have traveled in the past and it is completely forgotten in their world. Overall the story is very simple but it is decently done and is very enjoyable watching our main characters travel from different place to place and meeting and fighting stronger people.

Characters: 7/10

One major problem that I have with a lot of manhua's is the lack of character development. Sure Yuan Zhou becomes more powerful and is able to beat other people. But his character itself does not change at all throughout the story. He stays as this badass ruthless main character throughout the whole story (as of the latest chapter). However the character of Yuan Zhou himself is very likeable and is not someone that isn't a simp. I greatly appreciate that. Yao Yao, our female mc, is a very unique character with a hidden past. We get to learn more about Yao Yao's past but she is a very mysterious person and it is great unraveling the mystery of who she actually is and where she is from.

Another problem that I have with a lot of manhua's is the lack of side characters, as I have stated before. The main character is constantly traveling from place to place and is constantly meeting new characters. This makes a lot of the characters very forgettable and a lot of the times we don't even get to see these characters for a very long time (or not at all). We also do not get to see the transformations the characters have in the story. We only get to see the final product. Personally I would like to see the side characters journey and past to feel connected to those characters. However the side characters are not prevalent to the plot of the story so therefore they are not really talked about after the main character moves on.

Art: 9/10

The art is pretty fantastic and the intricate detailing of the characters and background makes for an enjoyable read. This manhua updates twice weekly (I believe) so it is great that the art style is still done very well even though it updates so frequently. The background is also not forgotten and drawn very well. All these visuals together makes the manhua very visually pleasing and a great read.

Enjoyment: 8/10

I have a personal bias here because I love over powered main characters stories so obviously this story is enjoyable for me. The best part about this manhua is where the main character proves everyone wrong because everyone believes that the main character is really weak but he is able to prove everyone wrong and saves the day many times. If you like op mc stories, this manhua is definitely for you.

Overall: 7/10

Overall, I would recommend this manhua to those who love the shounen genre or the action genre in general. However even if you don't like these genres, if you gave this manhua a chance. I think you will find it very enjoyable and a great read. However this manhua's release schedule is kind of weird because it releases in half's. Meaning that you get chapter 1 and chapter 1.5 in one week. Chapter 1.5 is the last half of chapter 1 and it is spaced out like this to ensure that each chapter is done well. Therefore you might have to wait for sometime to read the full chapter but I guarantee you it is worth the wait and you will be happy that you decided to pick up this manhua.
