Preliminary (4/13 eps)
Vivy is a great work so far. If I could give it a score as of writing, I'd put it at 9.5.

Premise:
The premise was overall not new, but there was nothing wrong with that. With stories nowadays, pretty much whatever you thought out will have something similar in the world, just obscured, hence not brought in the limelight. What matters generally is how the premise is used or how it was executed. For Vivy, the execution of the premise is well done. Hundreds of years in the future after Vivy was created was where Matsumoto started. Was it weird that the (probably) top scientist at that time managed to send an AI back in time? It's questionable but not impossible. I mean, that was hundreds of years after AIs at the caliber of Vivy was created. With AIs, advancement of technology would be rapid, that it's not that out of place for there to be a method to send information back in time, but was not officially recognized at that time probably it being under a testing phase. At the least, I believe that's the story in the background on how Matsumoto reached Vivy.

Characters:
Vivy is an highly advanced AI. She was at the point of having almost-human interactions. The existence of Matsumoto probably shorted something and made Vivy somewhat more human-like. In any case, the characters, despite being AIs, is not a simple cardboard character. Both are trying to stay true to their mission. They have their goals align but they have different methods of execution. This is a plus since it is not exactly a "do this, do that" story. The characters argue. They try to voice out their concerns. And at times, one convinces the other, which at the point of writing, made some character development for Vivy. However, Vivy herself has conflicts with herself.

The latest episode also portrayed that the characters that Vivy encounters are not cardboard characters. They have a history and a reason to do what they had to do. They developed in the past and which is why we seem them as they are bow.

Art and Sound:
There's not much to point here. It was all superb.
