There's something different about these stories that I can't help but admire, besides being magical in one story and supernaturally disturbing in another. Despite the seemingly 'dark' ambiance since the cast is composed of witches, vampires and ghosts, the manga-ka manages to sprinkle emotions on those characters. These supposed monsters are shown to feel love and to sacrifice, to be hurt for this love.

I like how the characters manage a happy, satisfied existence in the end despite that touch of hopeless sadness. Frankly, i think this sadness just gives a deeper meaning to the story. There's a twinge of pain but the smile won't go away.

The Forest of Memories and Midsummer's Silver Dream might seem 'disturbing', but it makes one think more about the characters choices and ends.

This isn't your ordinary manga.
