And ‘entertaining’ is how you appreciate this title. It’s not deep and it’s not complicated, but it IS fun.. frequently laugh out loud funny due to some of the slapstick antics. Noir’s journey in this fantasy world setting is a fairly classic tale of growth and saving-the-day. However as an MC he is appreciatively not crippled by paralysing gynophobia or indecisiveness; and the wider harem girls are all interesting and sufficiently motivated for logical reasons.
The story hangs together nicely with the various plot devices progressing at a decent pace culminating satisfyingly by the final episode (even though the source material does continue). Art is good and whilst animation could be done better it never really detracts from the enjoyment. Insofar as this kind of title goes, the only real let down is some sub-standard sound but many titles do it much much worse.
‘The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter’ just like Burger King, is an anime with all the right ingredients for a tasty meal that will leave you feeling satisfied and content.. provided you don’t go into it expecting the fine-dining experience (and that you don’t have something against ecchi)!
