I felt that Baka's story was very creative and humorous. To me the idea of splitting classes from A to F with each having facilities according to their academic abilities was a rather original and creative idea, and this actually reflects on most of modern society where most of the time, results are still everything(kinda sad to admit but its still true..). I also really loved the idea of summoning beings in the story.. First, they are extremely cute and have tails :) Second, they actually accurately portray what education is often really like: very competitive in nature. This anime does remind us that sometimes, results do not necessarily determine everything. However, i personally feel that the merit in Baka's story does not come from its plot development (you have to admit that not much has really happened from the start to the end of the story), but instead from the fact that Baka's humorous storyline keeps you falling off your seat from laughter. Some examples would be the nosebleeds that yoshii often gets, and of course, himeji's food. Although in reality there doesn't exist food so bad that it could make you collapse almost instantly, these scenes never failed to make me break out in complete laughter. (unless it has poison in it of course) Some of its jokes are witty while most are plain nonsensical, but you gotta admit those moments were pretty enjoyable!!
Regarding the art in the anime, i felt that it was pretty well done. I especially loved how they animated the summoning beings and the fighting scenes between them. Those scenes were sooo cute!! The art and animation quality wasn't extraordinary, but i felt that it still quite nicely done.
Regarding characters in the anime.. I felt that the character development was outstanding. Yoshii, the main male protagonist, who was supposed to be the "idiot" was made a complete idiot in almost every aspect. His results were mediocre, he never failed to come up with completely stupid ideas, and even when it came to romance he was REALLY REALLY dense, and it seemed that he was almost completely oblivious of minami and himeji's all too obvious feelings towards him. Yuuji's character was also nicely portrayed, with him occasionally coming up with brilliant ideas and such despite being in class F, and always being the one to trick yoshii into doing certain things for him, making him truly deserve the title of "child prodigy" despite his idiot-like behavior and constant arguments with yoshii. I liked how they did Hideyoshi's character, with how he wasn't exactly a guy and also not exactly a girl..
All in all, i felt that this anime is an extremely enjoyable one to watch with its many funny moments in the story. For those of you who love comedy or those who are trying to find some fun filled anime to lighten up your lives, Baka is definitely an anime for you :) Thanks for reading!! :D
