Mixed Feelings
Progressive isn't a bad anime, but it fails to capture what made the original so good.

The first few episodes were very promising, but then the beach episode happened and it just went downhill after that. For the most part the story is pretty much the same as the original but with a new cast that doesn't share any chemistry with Haruko with the exception of Jinyu who is very boring and a bad attempt at giving Haruko a rival.

While the original show started off very confusing and got more clear as you watched it, this sequel gets more confusing as you watch it, but instead of making you think and reflect about what happens, you kinda just don't care because there's really nothing to understand. It feels like the show tries to replicate the quirky feel of the original but without any of the reasons the original did it.

One of the things I did enjoy though was the animation, its not as good as the original, but it still tries its best to look cool and unique. I also very enjoyed Haruko, because she's basically the only character left from the original and she's simply the most entertaining thing this anime has to offer.

Overall, this sequel was very unnecessary, I enjoyed it, its a fine anime, but its not a good FLCL.
