What a refreshing series! It's really something I didn't expect when I first read the synopsis. It may seem a classical fantasy/majokko story, with a cute witch as main character, but it is much more than this, it is dark and kinda gloomy and most of the time it doesn't show the "bad" happening, but it makes you clearly understand what's going on. But there are also episodes that are soft and funny, giving a lightheartedness vibe, and it is really nice.

The story is interesting although the main plot is quite simple: a young witch longs to travel and to write a diary about the places she visited, inspired by a book she's read since she was a child.

It's about travels, and I really appreciated the effort they put in the art, the details of every place were so well done, there are so many wonderful drawings of the landscapes and cities, I've totally fallen for them.

Now let's go to what I've found most peculiar in this series: the main character. Elaina is really something new for me, she is mostly a distant observer rather than a heroin, she comes to know about the issues of the people she meets during her journey, but she doesn't interfere, and she just let the events go along their flow, she keeps note and reflects, and then she leaves...

To conclude, I really loved the episode 9, I'm not gonna say anything about it in order to avoid spoilers, I just want to say this: it's a little pearl that really shocked me in a positive way, I would give a high score just for this one in any case - but I really enjoyed all the series.
