Jawbreaker is competently executed with a hooky premise. But Glasses has to be one of the most innately detestable MCs I've seen in a yaoi manga. While his disillusionment and sexual hangups are understandable, his degree of callousness and lack of introspection (despite apparent intelligence), is astounding. He admits to the other MC that the only reason he was ever friends with him is because he wanted to stay close to his dad?? I'm sorry what?? Personally the level of distrust and displeasure I would feel at this revelation would be unparalleled. I suppose their sexual relation was just beginning to fly at this point, and they didn't seem that close to begin with, but I did find it totally destructive to the moral fiber of glasses. Chaotic and morally questionable characters are fine, but you can't expect to tie up a yaoi manga with this set up into a squeaky clean bow in a chapter or two. Glasses needed far more of a redemption arc than experiencing erectile dysfunction with the lust of his life and then getting fucked by a stranger and taking a single key of cocaine... But it's a single volume yaoi and I've read far less entertaining with much worse sex scenes. Yea it gets a 6 I guess...
