I read the french version of this manga, so I maybe missed some points lost in translation.

Have you ever wondered how a glider can fly?

Well, I haven' before reading this manga.

Summary:
Blue Thermal is about a young student, who will learn everything about glider and develop different relations with her fellow students.

Story:

The introduction to the glider was a bit weird but as the manga goes on, the subject is developed successfully and with rare precision. the story will give you the chill and will give you the interest you didn't know you needed about gliders.

The Art:

The art was good. the double pages well done and sometimes the emptiness was the best ally to help to feel the littleness of human to the gigantic sky. Moreover, the drawings gave a feeling of peace and calm.

Characters:

At first, the characters seem cliché but they all show some contrast after the second manga. The build-up of their personality is sometimes a bit forced and some relations are not developed at all. That creates a strange feeling as if something was missing because the characters were rushed.

Enjoyment:

This manga will give you one or two good laughs, maybe some anger toward some characters, but surely an admiration to the work done. I've never heard of the mangaka before but for a first work, it is clearly something good. The only bad point was the character development, which, I felt, was rushed (maybe because the manga is only 5 tomes long?).

Overall:

A very good manga for a first one, a promising and passionate author, a fine introduction to the glider world but work needs to be done about the characters.
