A very nice watch. Movies like this brings a sense of calmness and has the ability to slow things around us a bit, then again which anime with the theme of edo era doesn't? Action sequences, Characterization and animation are top notch. Characters are not just lifeless dolls, but animated with full of energy and life in them, especially the kid. The story is simple and importance is given to character development. The ability of the director to bring out the idiosyncrasies of each character is where the anime truly excels.

An excellent quick watch and perfect for a raining evening with a hot cup of coffee.
