SPOILER ALERT

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza is essentially the first season, but with much less going for it. Haruka's obsession with otaku culture is almost nonexistent in the 2nd season, and throughout the entire 12 episodes, the relationship between Yuuto and Haruka barely advances. They still get flushed red cheeks every time they talk to each other, even if they're mentioning the simple notion of holding hands.

Not only are they totally awkward around each other, but I've come to hate Yuuto-san by the last few episodes, on account of how unbelievably spineless he is in regards to expressing his emotions to Haruka. I wanted to punch the guy in the face and tell him to stop being so damn fatalistic.

Disregarding the stagnant relationship between Haruka and Yuuto, the second installment of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu is actually pretty good. The maid team is simply hilarious, and when the show shines, it really shines. However, the diamonds in the rough don't make up for the constant state of suspense and disappointment the show projects upon the viewer. You know how in the first season, Haruka and Yuuto never kissed until the last episode, and even then you didn't actually see them? Guess what: you don't see them actually kiss until after the credits in the last episode. So if you see them going for a kiss, you can count on Mika or the maid team to interrupt.

Overall, a series that shone with a creative and romantic flare ultimately killed itself by failing to provide the audience with any sort of advancement in the story and stripping it of its original premise.

Expect disappointment.
