This show has given me more than I expected and I am glad that I gave it a shot and stuck with it. I honestly believe a lot of the poor reviews it has received were given before the arc was able to be presented. There are layers of depth to the show as well as comedic, dramatic, and exciting moments. It is, in my opinion, well rounded.
Is it the best anime I've ever seen? No. Do I look forward to watching it every week? Hell ya.
I got a buddy of mine into the show. For the first few episodes his response to me was pretty much "wtf" but as he got further into the season he began to truly enjoy it. I believe it will be the same for a lot of viewers. Give this anime a chance. I don't remember at what episode the arc really kicks off but don't be afraid to sink your teeth in. It is truly authentic and interesting while presenting a story that may not sound all that crazy or different when put into words.
