Synopsis:

Events in Clannad: After Story take place immediately after the first season, following Tomoya's final semester of high school. After declaring his love to Nagisa, they begin to have a close relationship. Their life together will be faced with unexpected challenges, as the truth behind the illusionary world and the city's legend come to light.

Animation [10/10]:

Kyoto Animation, in other words, simply beautiful. The animation is so well drawn and it almost seems that is flows like water.

Music [10/10]:

The music was just...WOW. The music played a huge role in the story. The opening theme is just great, which gives you the whole feeling of Clannad: After Story in song. The ending theme was a great happy-inducing song. But it can also function as a blunt mood-killer. However, I won't bump the score down because of this. One of my favorite scenes in this anime would not have such a powerful effect without its music. I soon found myself playing "Dango Daikazoku" on the piano. (Said song not in Clannad:After Story.)

Characters [10/10]:

I have not forgotten any of these characters, even after a full year after watching the anime for the first time, and I'm not planning on doing so anytime soon. Tomoya Okazaki remains as my second most favorite male role in anime, right behind Kyon. The heroines here are also just as great. Nagisa Furukawa is a character you won't be forgetting for a while. The supporting characters also build up the story along with the lead characters. But my favorite character in this anime has to Ushio.

Story [10/10]:

Key will provide you with one of the best stories ever told. The comedy had me in tears of laughter. I even replayed some parts several times, making me take up an hour just to watch one episode. The drama had me throwing my man card into the fire. Words cannot even begin to describe how enthralled I was about this part of the anime. It has also taught me a few ways to live life better. I was tears of sadness and joy. It has taught me to enjoy life to the fullest with whatever you have. The ending, however, confused me for the first time, but I somehow managed to understand what had happened. And the extraordinarily happy ending made up for this.

OVERALL [10/10]:

Clannad remains as Key's most classic story. You will cry tears of joy, sadness, and laughter as you progress through this story. Not only will you enjoy, you will experience a change on your look on life. Clannad (meaning family) will teach you to cherish all the great things in life, to plow through hardships, and overall, to enjoy the life that was given to you to the fullest extent. The awesome music, the beautiful art, the amazing characters, the extraordinary story, and a life-changing moral gives Clannad: After Story a rightful place as one of the best anime ever made.
