and now that i finished it, i'm extremely conflicted about it
such a great, interesting and fun story with such a disappointing, uninteresting and boring end
now, there aren't any significant loose ends or poor writing in the end, rather the problem is that it set itself up in such a unique and interesting manner, but ended up going down the same path many other romcom light novels
hell, i suspected it was going to end this way by the 8th volume, and i was sure about it by the tenth or so, 5 whole volumes before it ended, that's how predictable it ended up being
i wanted the author to be setting up a curveball so bad that even a horrible, unfulfilling ending would've been preferable, but in the end he just did what had been done before, with an ok at best execution
if you've already read toradora or even sakurasou no pet na kanojo, save yourself the trouble and watch the anime instead, its much faster and its a great adaptation
if not, you should probably read toradora instead(but not sakurasou), but this wouldn't be a bad choice for your first light novel(it'd be an excellent one in fact) just keep in mind that toradora this this exact thing first(and some would argue, better)
