The anime is very enjoyable, particularly if you are a dog person, it is also a slice of life to the max, so if you do not enjoy the genre, this anime isn't for you. It is overall fun but the amount of enjoyment very much depends on the person. I am European and so have no understanding of this historical context, therefore the historical context is something the anime could attempt to explain a bit more, although the target audience is likely to be mostly Japanese. The animation is average, the opening is good, and the credits are amazing. If you're looking for a complex action-packed, story-heavy anime this is really not for you, however, if you just want to spend a fun 24 minutes enjoying an original, humour-filled, and entertaining slice of life this is for you.

so this show is nothing remarkable but still cute. I have a bit of a guilty pleasure for the "talking dog genre" which I share with a friend. I enjoy the new take on the genre and commend the creators for taking a risk for the sake of originality. I was talking to my friend about the anime the other day and we came to the conclusion that this anime receives a large amount of unearnt hate, despite the fact that in a lot of ways it is far more interesting than some far more popular shows from this season such as nekopara. Overall cute anime, would recommend for anyone who want to just give themselves a mental break and watch a cute, funny, non-challenging anime about dogs reminiscing about how they once tried to murder eachother
