The timeline is different in this movie then the original and based on certain aspects and characters that appear it would seem that this movie takes place after Water 7 and CP9, which is when I believe the art and animation of One Piece was at its peak and being a Movie of a very popular Anime you think it would have a decent budget to produce great Art and Animation however I felt the Art in this film was horrible. You can pause it at almost any scene and the character models just look terrible, and then they would throw in some unnecessary CGI at the weirdest moments.
I also felt the Original character made for this movie was also just idiotic with powers and abilities that seemed to be all over the place and his back story seemed very lazy.
I Hope people won't take this review the wrong way. I really Love One Piece, Oda created an amazing world and filled it with fantastic characters, each with powerful drives and conviction with pasts and backstories that can make the manliest of men cry like babies, however I didn't feel any of that in this movie, instead it just felt like it was an unnecessary cash grab.
Of all the One Piece Movies this is the one I would recommend that people skip.
