As someone who has read both the web novel and the manga, the manga is definitely a giant step up in all areas. While the story is a classical isekai, the manga is more interesting than it appears to be. Our main characters are Master, the man who was reincarnated as a sword who guides Fran, the cat girl who is trying to accomplish a certain goal in life that I can't spoil.
The characters are more fleshed out and likable, fight scenes are way cooler and have a sense of "je ne sais quoi", skills and abilities are interesting, the whole shebang. I definitely recommend it to anyone who reads manga and even some anime watchers out there.
