When I first started Kämpfer I hadn't got the slightest idea as to what it would be about. So after the first episode I was a bit surprised. Kämpfer is an ecchi shoujo-ai/comedy/action anime, and because I had never seen an other ecchi series before, I just had to get used to it a bit. Right from the start of this anime I was slightly puzzled because you don't know why things are the way they are. It is just a fact, no explanation. At the 11th episode there is some sort of conclusion as to why things are happening, but still, the storyline is a bit vague. The art is really outstanding. I love the way it is drawn, very detailed; really a pleasure for the eye ^^. The characters were good. Most of them though have flat personalities, but some of the characters' personalities change in ways you would not expect. As I already said, there is definitely some humour in this anime. Not a lot but just enough to make it a bit more enjoyable. Overall I first wanted to give it a 9, but I didn't. Why? Because the last two episodes were a bit disappointing. The forelast episode is actually the last episode, because the story is "concluded" there. And what annoyed me was that at the most exciting moment in the story, where the music should have been exciting fighting music, the music was some sort of weird German happy childish song. That really spoiled the moment for me. And the last episode in fact does not make sense at all. You'd expect the story to be brought to a nice, sense-making end there, but in fact that episode does not add anything to the story at all. But still overall I looked forward to every episode, even though the last two episodes were a bit of a shame.
