Mixed Feelings
This anime is enjoyable, but minimally so. It seems to check off the boxes it needs in order to avoid being a bad anime, and I have trouble finding real faults with it. The art is okay but not mindblowing. The plot is fairly well-constructed, although it suffers from some pitfalls to common tropes. The characters were well-defined excepting the ones which weren't supposed to be, and it's decent overall.

That said there was a feeling of distance I had from it. Maybe it's an anime that suffers from being watched one episode at a time. Every week we'd watch an episode and I'd have to remind myself of what was going on and where the plot was, when other anime had really engaged me. There's a good bit going on in the anime but not nearly enough to not be able to keep up with, it just didn't seem to perform well in the format of weekly episodes. They could have done a lot better with a pair of movies, in my opinion. A good execution of time travel takes intense focus from the viewer, as can be seen in films such as Primer, and only having twenty-two minutes a week interferes with that focus. I may change my rating and edit this review on a rewatch (if I ever rewatch it) due to the possibility of high rewatchability, as is common with time travel plotlines.
