The story started off really basic like any beginning. Introduction to the characters was a hassle for me to get through. Once the beginning stages were set and the characters well known, it got more enjoyable for me. The Dark Tournament was really good and enjoyable. There's just one aspect about it that I didn't like but I won't spoil that here. Chapter Black was just disappointing because I thought it would carry on the greatness but I just found it dumb. The last arc was even worse but it had nice characterization for a few characters. The ending was fan service but it was whatever.

The characters are the best thing about this manga. Their friendship is what made it enjoyable. If it wasn't for the characters I would of dropped Yu Yu Hakusho in the chapter black arc.
I think Yu Yu Hakusho is the most overrated manga ever. A lot of the fans watched the anime and blinded by nostalgia but the story just ruins it own potential. Respects to Togashi though
