The characters are boring and have no personality. The most interesting character is the grandfather and he's fucking nuts. Who just makes their grandson adopt a teenage girl??? Of course, we have the poor mc with dead parents and shitty caretakers or the workaholic father/romantic interest (the fact that he's both is nuts) who is at first awful but has a heart of gold...
If she was much younger and this was a story of a genuine father-daughter relationship it would have been much more interesting and I would gladly read it, but this is obviously going in the romantic direction.
