This review is horribly biased, but it's my precise thoughts on it.
Art is subjective, anime and manga included, and, subjectively, no movie, animated or otherwise, has spoken to me so strongly. The feelings that conjure up when I see so much as stills of this is uncomfortable; for a long time I flat-out DENIED I enjoyed this because the mere thought that something struck me so profoundly didn't sit well with adolescent me.
Objectively, it's very well made. There is plenty of flashy animation to catch your eye, and it's bright, colourful, rich and all-round a marvel. So too are the characters well made, and the grounded story is enthralling.
But the connection I feel to the whole ordeal is something that I can't avoid stating.
Watch this move, it's very short, and it might mean something to you too.
