In the aftermath of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" which would first tell of the One Year War, an epic conflict between the Earth Federation Space Forces and the Principality of Zeon, a number of new perspectives on the One Year War would appear including one notable gem "08th MS Team". Set almost entirely on Earth, "08th MS Team" is a grittier perspective of the One Year War from the eyes of the leader of a squad of Mobile Suit pilots at the bottom of the chain of the Earth Federation. Thanks to time, "08th MS Team" has the glory of receiving an updated appearance compared to its iconic predecessor which grants it considerably more detailed Mobile Suits, with better sounds to match. Each Mobile Suit that appears in "08th MS Team" benefits from a more mechanical appearance for the sake of accentuating the fact that each model is a nightmare of complicated electronics and mechanics working together to form a stunning war machine. This means that famous suits like the Zaku II appear with newly found detail whilst still retaining the original designs that stole the hearts of fans everywhere. Each suit benefits from higher quality sounds as well from the hum of hot beam sabers, to the blasts of enormous machine guns. All of this helps to tell the story of the 08th Mobile Suit team led by Shiro Amada who fights love and the Principality of Zeon with his team in the thick jungles of Southeast Asia. This time a cast of more mature characters is exhibited unlike "Mobile Suit Gundam" which featured more adolescent warriors on the side of the Earth Federation. This cast which is more unimportant in the grand scale of the One Year War helps to better exhibit the horrors of war against the veteran pilots of the Principality of Zeon. The new sounds and newly detailed Mobile Suits of "08th MS Team" help to guide us through an intriguing war story of a team of average soldiers in a not so average war.
