In all truth, I have never been one for horror, anime or otherwise. When I orginally heard about Ghost Hunt, I was skeptical at least. Watching ghost stories, or zombies, or whatever goes bump in the night never did appeal to me. It wasn't until I watched the first episode that I became hooked to the story line, and the characters.

The story is amazingly good. To a point, episodes range in diary chapters about events in the anime. There are up to four episode for any one chapter, but it never ceases to amaze me how chilling each story is. Even the slightly hilarious single episode chapter had a certain chill to it.

Behind these thrillingly amazing stories there is a touch of other themes, not just horror. A large one is romance, but beyond that there is humor in many parts, but not so much it makes the horror seem a bit cliche. Characters are surprising good, though many of the main characters cause a feeling of uselessness. The main character Mai Taniyama is young and girlish, but her powers make her a valuable character and help move the story along. Others such as the Narcissitic Naru and the ever quiet Lin give a sense of seriousness. But Bou-san helps balance that out.

All in all, with plot, character, and style into a account I say this anime is in the top listing. It has great art type and the music, including spooky noises are chilling. I enjoyed the series. So I have given it a 10.
