The plot of this anime might not have been this complicated but it kept me nervous almost the entire time i was watching it and not because i didn't know what was going to happen next on the contrary i knew exactly what was going to happen but the way it was presented was really good.
The story starts of as one of struggle and survival then slowly turn into more than just that. Family, friendship and a "Shit Ton" of feels are the main focus here.
Characters (9/10):
The characters are simple and realistic in a way which was a good thing in this case as the show was (in a way) about how different kinds of people react to a catastrophic event. So a more down to earth cast of characters was more suitable in this situation.
Character development take the cake here, well more like 1 character development "Mirai". The way events and interactions with character (mostly Yuuki) helped change and shape here was just too good in my opinion.
Art and Animation (7/10):
The art and animation didn't really offer any wow factor and could have benefited from a little bit of attention. More impressive destruction scenes would have added to the impact of the show better and i don't know about the method the used for far shots (was that some sort of CG) they just looked crappy.
Characters design was not great but still good enough.
Music & VA (8/10):
The soundtrack of the anime didn't stand out much but not in a bad way, how do i put it ...... it suited the show just fine but also didn't offer any note worthy tracks.
I watched the English dub for this show and it was really good. I really recommend anyone who want to watch this anime to pick out the dub. All the character had suitable voices that conveyed emotions in a great way.
Effectiveness (8/10):
This anime is not for the faint of heart and if you are not dead inside (like me) you will definitely have tears in your eyes by the end of it.
it will keep you engrossed the whole way with it's great pacing and some of the end of episodes events that would make you start the next one immediately (I actually watched it in one sitting)
