Criminale! is a relatively light hearted manga, and it's strong suit is in the presentation of comedy. The premise of the main character being a criminal magnet while having the supporting cast be mostly criminals of some sort is really interesting and makes for some great recurring jokes. In my opinion the comedy is almost Gintama level.
It's a shame that this manga had to have such an abrupt end since it seemed like there were plans for some more exciting developments. Nevertheless, Criminale! was very good and I couldn't stop turning the pages once I started. I ended up finishing it in 1 sitting and I hope you'll give it a chance too.
