Are you ready to feel happy, envious, and thirsty simultaneously? Well have I got the manga for you...

The amazing thing about Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte Kara is that it's impossible to figure out who it's pandering to. On one hand, you could look its unbelievably cute female lead (in both appearance and personality) and assume it's an escapist fantasy for lonely salarymen everywhere. Looking at her other half, who is basically the most perfect husband ever, I can imagine an equal amount of young women fawning over this dream of a man. And then there's the last portion of people who just want to see thirst-inspiring depictions of alcohol, along with the handy recipes one needs to make them. It all makes for the perfect combination to make us feel shi**y about our love lives and want to drink our sorrows away, and thanks to Osake's handy instructions, we can!

In sum, this manga is the gateway to alcoholism.

All kidding and theorizing aside, this is a cute manga and definitely worth checking out if you want something light, heartwarming, and (kinda) educational. My only problem is that it sticks to its formula a little too closely at times: reticent wife encounters issue, drinks, opens up to her husband about it, he fixes everything with his stupid perfect face, amorous activities implied, roll credits, etc. It doesn't go down like this 100% of the time, but I still would've liked to see it break out of its shell a little more. Then again, we aren't exactly looking for ambition with premise, are we? Check it.
