This is not a serious story. Based on the story of "The Monkey's Paw", it's absurd and ridiculous, with most of the humor coming from the main character's (Mariko) oddly calm and logical approach to her boyfriend, Makoto, coming back as a zombie and all the...inconveniences that that entails. What makes this oneshot stand out is the ending, which reframes everything that happens before and explains why Mariko acts the way she does.

The art is sketchy and similar to what you'd normally see whenever characters do something "silly": a bit into deformed territory but not chibi either. More like doodles than a finished product. For a bonus, check out the reactions of the people in the background.

At only 17 pages, this is a story worthy of the attention of any mystery fan with a dark sense of humor and a few minutes to spare.
