This show was thoroughly entertaining for a variety of--spoiler free--reasons.
I will admit that the premise of a cube being one of the main love interests in a story is... out there.... But what I really liked about this anime is that it manages to meld action, gore, and an undeniable sense of cute fairly well.
It threw me off at times, but in a good way: shifting in tone RAPIDLY from lighthearted and cute, to dark and gory, occasionally multiple times in the same episode.
It touches on several difficult topics--humanity, murder, past sins, etc--yet still doesn't manage to come off as too edgy or take itself too seriously, throwing in a decent amount of ecchi and lighthearted character interactions.
And I'm not really a connoisseur of art and sound, but I will say that they probably had a (rather large) hand in making those massive flips in tone seem almost seamless (in my opinion)
stay crazy,
