The story of Natsume is simple yet interesting. The yokai he encounters in each episode has a different story and history to them. It is relaxing and calming in a sense. Some of the yokai just want to get their names back, some have some sort of trouble they want Natsume to help them with, some are more to the dangerous side and has some sort of hatred within them. The story makes you want to know more about the yokai and the people that Natsume meets.

The art for Natsume Yuujinchou is one of the most simple yet most breathtaking to me. The background uses more soft colours blended together and it just creates a very relaxing feel to it.
The thing I love the most is the part after Natsume returns a yokai's name and they just shine, turning into bright lights and disappear. It makes me feel satisfied knowing that they are at peace.

The soundtrack of Natsume Yuujinchou is great. From the openings and endings to the music that just plays softly in the background. It always fits the situation that is happening.
I love the moment where at the end, everything is finally done and everyone is at peace and they just play relaxing music in the background as life kind of returns back to normal. It gives you such a nostalgic and calming feeling.

The characters in Natsume Yuujinchou are all different, there is no one same yokai. Every character has their own personality and differences. They all have their own amazing story and history. Sometimes when the yokai flashbacks you can see what kind of person Reiko was and how the yokai is connected to her.
The fact that every yokai is different makes you want to learn more and more about them and how they become the way they are. The bond between Natsume and the yokai he meets is one of the most interesting things. He somehow shows an understanding towards them and tries his best to help them as he can rather than being scared and running away or trying to seal them like exorcists in the anime. He even forms friendships with some of them, one of the examples is Nyanko-sensei himself.

I fully enjoyed Natsume Yuujinchou and it is my favourite anime of all time. I loved the whole anime, from the first episode to the last and I've even rewatched the series a few times!

I think that if you are looking for something relaxing or calming or just something to watch after a long day of work or intense anime to wind down, Natsume Yuujinchou is perfect. It gives you a sense of satisfaction and relaxation after you finished watching an episode.
If you watched the first episode and found it boring, Don't stop there! Give it a chance and continue watching and it will be worth it. You have to know Natsume and his experiences before you can fully get into the anime and its stories.
