Initially, Space Dandy bashes you over the head with sexually suggestive themes. A few episodes later, when it becomes more apparent that it's just an occassional gimmick intended to keep audiences awake, there's actually a wealth of fun to be had watching this series.

I binged the entire series over the past few days and have had an issue with two episodes in particular. First, the "A Race in Space Is Dangerous, Baby" was poorly written. It doesn't have any of that extra dimension that comes with all other episodes, and comes off as a homage to an already terrible cartoon, The Wacky Races. The other episode is the one where Dandy forms the Dropkix. The reason I didn't like that episode was because the entire thing was unapologetically out of character for Dandy. It was a good episode of something, but it differentiated itself in character from the rest of the series somehow - the whole band felt shoehorned in, like a TV executive mandated that one episode should be about dandy starting a band.

Anyway, even though all the episodes seem weird and the universe seems to reset with every episode, they actually tied it up quite neatly at the end. The ending of this series is particularly awesome and well worth watching through the entire series to get to.

I'll revisit this series down the road.
